From 2015 to a two-company manufacturing group
The milestones that took Go Green Exports from a new Sri Lankan exporter to the country's second-largest coir products manufacturer and exporter.
- 2015
Go Green Exports (Pvt) Ltd is established
The company is incorporated to manufacture and export coir-based products from Sri Lankan coconut husk, under the leadership of Managing Director Mr. Chameel Samaranayake. Early operations focus on coco peat and coir substrates for international growers.
- 2015 onwards
First long-term export relationships begin
Customer relationships formed in the company's first years are still running today — including a Lebanese customer who has now been buying from us for a decade, and a Nigerian hydroponic producer supplied for the past eight years.
- Growth years
The product portfolio widens beyond substrates
Coco chips, coir fibre, grow bags, coir pots, coir poles, geotextiles, coconut shell charcoal, BBQ briquettes, horse bedding and other value-added coconut products are added to the range, taking the company into retail, pet-care, landscaping and industrial markets.
- 2020
ISO 9001:2015 certification
The management system covering the export of coco peat, coco chips, coco fibre and related products is certified by Bureau Veritas Certification Holding SAS — UK Branch. The original certification cycle commenced on 03 March 2020.
- 2022
Premium Coco Substrates (Pvt) Ltd is established
A major step in the company's development: additional manufacturing capacity to support the continued expansion of export operations, alongside continued investment in production infrastructure, quality management and resource efficiency.
- 2022
SLIM SME Development Awards — Silver, Exports Category
Recognition from the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing and SLIM SME Development for the company's development as an export-oriented business.
- 2023
NCE Export Awards — Gold, Large Category
The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka awards Go Green Exports the Gold Award in the Large Category of the Coconut & Coconut Products Sector, in recognition of export performance during 2022–2023. The company also receives the NCE Certificate of Ethical Trading, held from 19 October 2023 to 18 October 2025.

Recertification to ISO 9001:2015
The current certification cycle commences on 27 February 2026 and runs to 02 March 2029, subject to the continued satisfactory operation of the management system.
